I've received a barrage of emails regarding my continuing coverage of outing the city's most notorious "party crashers." Some were funny, some egged me on and a few were . . . well, let's just say they were pretty disturbing.
Anyway, there was one particular note that left me scratching my head:
"How can you call them party crashers when these events you're writing about that they're supposedly crashing are free? It's not like they're paid ticket events. This doesn't make any sense!"
OK. Now, that email made NO sense. Party crashers, Eat & Drink Club or whatever you want to call them are getting their chops busted because when they come to these events they USE FAKE NAMES and LIE ABOUT WHAT THEY DO in order to get in. If you have to make up shit, then there's a problem. It's that simple, damnit!
I'm so glad you are here calling these people out. This is an on-going problem for PR & Event people in the city and without your assistance, our clients would be stuck hosting these freeloaders. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAND these events are not free and open to the public. They are events planned out months in advance to showcase the client, invite only. Making up fake names and identities to eat and drink for free, getting called out and then being extremely derogatory is truly sad and pathetic!
ReplyDeleteExactly. It's all about manners: if you're not invited, don't come.
ReplyDeleteGive it up Sugar ! The events are free and the people that go to them are eather on a list or a guest of the main name on the list. Grow up and get a life. Bottom line honey the events are free. You go around acting like your somthing your nothing. You can never stop people from going to a free event. If it was a paid event it would be different. Mabey you should show up early to get a seat and you would not be such a stand out running around like some Wack out biatch. You need help no one cares about the people that you think are crashers. Its FREE Dumbing go back to school or get a new life. Your heading down the road of lawsuits ad other issues that you have no idea that your about to dive into honey.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for posting this. It's so hard planning an event meant to attract serious media and industry folks and you have freeloaders trying to get free food and drinks. Most of the events are NOT open to the public and they actually have to work hard to get the specific details for the event. I think the only people who have a problem with you discussing this in your forum are the "party crashers" themselves. They ain't slick! And they are basically upset that they are being outed. Poor them...i suppose they're upset that we all realize how pathetic they look. Their days of getting free food and alcohol are coming to an end...
ReplyDeleteI mean really...you can't even make stuff like this up...
ReplyDelete"Mabey you should show up early to get a seat and you would not be such a stand out running around like some Wack out biatch."
Really, who is this sad, sad person posting the above?!
If I were to throw a party for my friends at my home, it is free for my friends to attend. What makes a non-friend think that they can just show up to my home to get in? Free does not mean free to everyone. In these cases, free is to the "invited", hence the opposite term "Party Crasher". If you're not invited don't show up!
ReplyDeleteLove That Party at Macy's ! Dumb ass left the side door open.Ever party crasher in the City was there.
ReplyDeleteThe party crashers, who can continued to crasher any parties, feels that they have an entitlement to being there, b/c they scammed their way to an invitation. Does that mean, they are truly invited??? I know of some of the PR, who are scared shitless being in the events, b/c they know, that they're really not suppose to be there!
