To The Market . . .

Tix are still available for the Green City Market Chef's BBQ, in its 10th year and going down 6-8pm July 15.

Eighty local chefs will be participating and creating delicious, signature bites from produce sold at the market. What's particularly cool this year is that in addition to the many dishes guests will get to sample, some of the city's most accomplished mixologists will be on hand to handcraft market-fresh cocktails.

From Nacional 27 bar czar Adam Seger to the debonair Peter Vestinos at The Exchange, the pros will throw down with their favorite ingredients.

Tickets are $99 and may be purchased here.

If you're not able to make the Green City Market Chef's BBQ, here are some places you can check out all summer where chefs and mixologists are making signature items based on what's available at the market.

David Burke Primehouse: The weather pretty much sucked last year when Al GRESHco debuted, but hopefully its creator, Executive Chef Rick Gresh, is having a better summer this time around. He's not only incorporating seasonal veggies he's picked from Wednesday's market, but look for him to give his brand-new smoker a serious workout. Four courses paired with an appropriately boozy beverage, plus Gresh serves each plate personally. 7pm on the following dates: July 14, 28; August 11, 25; and Sept. 15 (extremely limited seating; reservations required). $75 per person.

The Drawing Room: I ran into chief mixologist Charles Joly at the market a few weeks ago as he was sniffing out the best rhubarbs for possible cocktails that weekend. Joly, who teams up with Tim Lacey behind the stick, creates the special sippers Thursday through Saturday or "when all the ingredients are gone." Drinks are about $12.

In Fine Spirits: Here at Andersonville's superb cocktail emporium, Executive Chef Marianne Sundquist uses all local ingredients from the area's farmer's market as well as from the restaurant's personal sustainable garden on the outdoor patio. Thursdays feature nibbles made with produce from the market. Prices vary.

MK: Executive Pastry Chef Tony Galzin already had one of the best jobs in the world and it just got better. All summer, he's doing mk ♥'s the market, offering his unique spin to classic desserts. He shops at the market every Wednesday and includes those gorgeous goodies in a dessert and market-fresh cocktail. Offered every Thursday at the bar and lounge for $15.

Perennial: And mixologist Benjamin Schiller is back with his monthly Green City Market Cocktail Party, which is fun and interactive for guests. He'll create two special cocktails with ingredients he found from the market, and you'll get to vote on your favorite. The drink with the most votes gets a spot on the Perennial cocktail list. Guests get two drink tickets and appetizers, which, of course, will also be made from ingredients from the market. Next party is 6:30-8pm July 14; reservations required by calling 312-981-7070. Free. Those who stay for dinner get 15 percent off bill.
