Free Grub From Celeb Chef Food Truck!
Chef Rick Bayless (left) and Takashi Yagihashi
It was only a matter of time before Macy's Culinary Council launched a food truck, seeing how everyone else is doing it.
The iconic retail chain's first-ever mobile operation, A-Go-Go, has been traveling the country all summer, and is set to make two stops in Chicago next week with two celeb chefs guaranteed to draw massive crowds.
Takashi Yagihashi (Takashi) and Rick Bayless (Frontera Grill/Topolobampo/Xoco) will be passing out complimentary samples of their signature gourmet dishes.
Check out Yagihashi 1-4pm Sunday during StreetFood Artistry at Galleria Marchetti and Bayless 6-9pm August 16 at Ethyl's Beer & Wine.
Everything's free, but Macy's is still using the opportunity to raise money for Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger relief organization. For every $1 donated, Feeding America will provide seven meals to those in need on behalf of local food banks.
More food truck new . . .
The Meatyballs Mobile will have a special guest chef riding aboard Tuesday. Cleetus Friedman of City Provisions will be offering the Double Trouble Balls: lamb and pork with a coconut milk masala served with fresh mint Tzatziki sauce.
We hear that Friedman's balls sold out in an hour the last time he hung out on the Meatyballs truck, so they're recommending you get there early. Look for them 11am-1pm Tuesday at the corner of Monroe and Dearborn streets.

And finally, word is out that the guys behind Jam are working on the Traffic Jam Food Truck. Looking forward to that action!
Love this post! Both chefs are amazing. I hear that Takashi will be serving Crab and Shrimp Ramen Salad with Chukka-Soba Dressing. Gourmet food for free! So cool.
