Just got word that tickets for the second-annual Hamburger Hop went on sale Monday.
Last year it was the highlight of Chicago Gourmet, the two-day festival taking place Sept. 24-25 in Millennium Park. Hamburger Hop kicks off the foodie extravaganza on Sept. 23, offering guests signature burgers from 15 of Chicago's top chefs.
In 2010, NoMi Kitchen Executive Chef Ryan LaRoche took first place. His was made with ground Wagyu beef, Nueske bacon, pickled garlic, shallots, comte cheese, watercress, and smoked tomato aioli on a rosemary Ciabatta bun.
It'll be exciting to see if anyone unseats him this year.
The event takes place at the Harris Theater Rooftop in Millennium Park (205 E. Randolph St.). It's 6-9pm Sept. 23 and $89.
