It's A Busy, Busy January . . .

Not everyone is hibernating this month.

Those taking the boozy tours at Ravenwood's Koval Distillery can finally get some sustenance, well at least on Wednesdays. That's when Food Truck Wednesdays happens, featuring a different meal on wheels each week. They'll set up shop an hour before each tour begins and will be outside when it's done.

First up this Wednesday is Getta Polpetta, which specializes in gourmet meatballs. Duck N Roll (Jan. 18) offers tasty Vietnamese cuisine, while TaqueroFusion (Jan. 25) features Latin-influenced eats. Look for the trucks at 7pm.

A special event happens Saturday, Jan. 28 with ChicaGourmets and the Big Star Food Truck, which will serve up a DIY taco bar. That occurs 3 and 5pm.

Other cool stuff going down in January:

Late-night diners will be thrilled to know that Chicago Cut Steakhouse is now keeping the kitchen open past 1am. You'll be able to chow down on the signature Chicago Cut Steakhouse prime beef burgers ($12), prime beef sliders ($10), the sushi trio ($18), lollipop lamb chops ($16), lobster mac n' cheese ($19) and more.

This has got to be the best budget-conscious brunch in the Gold Coast. Cantina 46 just launched a chef's prix-fixe brunch that's only $13 a person. But the best part is that they're doing $13 bottomless Mimosas and $10 pitchers of sangria. 11am-2:30pm Sundays.

Union Sushi + Barbeque Bar is on a roll...with a DETOX party for those working on getting healthier in the New Year. They've teamed up with David Barton Gym for an event that includes "skinny" cocktails, black rice maki and more. It's $25, but if you're a David Barton member, it's free. 5:30-8pm Jan. 18.

You can catch Top Chef contestant Sarah Grueneberg in action as she goes head to head with her mentor, Tony Mantuano, who competed on Top Chef Masters. The two Spiaggia chefs square off in a quickfire challenge, while teaching guests how to make some of the dishes they created on the shows. 11:30am Jan. 21. It's $125 and includes food and wine. Reservations required.

And while it's chilly outside, Table Fifty-Two should keep you warm with its first-ever Bourbon & Beyond event. Guests will indulge in tastings of unique bourbons and small-batch whiskeys paired with Southern-inspired appetizers. Selections include Eagle Rare, Elijah Craig 18, Pappy Van Winkle 20, Hirsch’s 20 Year American Whiskey, Hudson Four Grain Bourbon and St. George’s "Breaking and Entering" bourbon. We cannot wait to see what will be paired with the deep-fried pecan pie! 7pm Jan. 25. $45; reservations required.
