Rachael Lowe Is Out At Trump

Late last week, 312DD was alerted to the unfortunate news that Trump Chicago parted ways with its rising-star sommelier Rachael Lowe.
After contacting Trump, here's what they had to say:
"Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago can verify that Rachael Lowe and the property have parted ways. As Beverage Director for the past two years, Rachael was instrumental in the ongoing development of the hotel's exceptional wine and spirits program. The Trump Chicago team wishes her all the best in her future endeavors, particularly as she prepares for the Master Sommelier exam.
"The property's commitment to Sixteen's award-winning wine program—which will continue to thrive in large part due to Rachael's expertise and groundwork—is as strong as ever. Newly appointed restaurant director William Douillet (Next, Alinea, Bazaar by José Andrés, The Dinex Group), a certified sommelier, will work with Sixteen's talented team to continually curate an evolving selection of the world’s best wines to complement the progressive, French-inspired American cuisine of Executive Chef Thomas Lents."
This will certainly be an interesting transition for Sixteen, particularly as the restaurant's team strives to snag two Michelin stars for the 2013 edition. Good luck to Lowe and Sixteen!
Douillet is a beast!
