Make plans Friday and Saturday to spend your evening at Lush Wine & Spirits in University Village, where cocktail king Adam Seger will host its first-ever "pop-up" lounge. He's bringing with him loads of lush fruits and herbs he snapped up at Green City Market, so expect some of the most inventive market-fresh cocktails you've ever tasted.
He's actually dubbed them "drink like you eat" inspired cocktails, and he'll make them with Seedlings strawberries, Smith Farms herbs, Klug Farms rhubarb and Flaming Fury cherries. Look for bourbon, organic gin, artisan tequila, Hum and Bell's Beer to add to the liquid joy. The setup will be omakase style, where guests will have the opportunity to offer input on the ingredients. Cocktails will be $9; or flight of three for $15.
To soak up all that booze, Lush will offer Bahn Mi sandwiches and Green Acres French breakfast radishes with cultured butter and fancy salt. And for those guests who order a bottle of hooch from Lush, Seger will create a signature customized cocktail recipe for them to take home. The event happens 6-10pm Friday and Saturday.
Ohhhhh, but there's so much more going down that you don't want to miss . . .

Speaking of Green City Market, the next Green City Market Junior Board event happens at The Bedford 6-8pm Thursday. Meet The Market goes down in "the vault" and includes Seedling Fruit cocktails. The cocktails are special for the evening and cost $8, of which $6 goes to GCM.
Sable Kitchen & Bar bartender Mike Ryan is also a big fan of Green City Market, and he's using Seedlings' luscious strawberries for two seasonal, signature cocktails: Speaking in Tongues (Mezcal, amaro, lemon and strawberry puree) and strawberry Daiquiri.
Stanley's on Lincoln's "StanBurger." (Photo: Stanley's on Lincoln)
Iconic French eatery Le Creperie celebrates 40 years this week with a number of deals. They're rolling back to the original prices Friday (40 cents to $3.50) from 11:30am to 6pm, and on Saturday and Sunday, brunchers will be serenaded with live entertainment.
Buy an entree at Stanley's on Lincoln and get a complimentary StanBurger. That's 11am-5pm, and so what if that sounds gluttonous?! These burgers are extra juicy, and made with brisket, chuck and short rib with American and Cheddar cheese with a secret sauce. On Mondays, you can get a $5 StanBurger paired up with a $5 spiked milkshake of caramel and bourbon.
Crimson's $175 cocktail celebrates Chicago's birthday. (Photo: Crimson Lounge)
See above for the out-of-control cocktail at Crimson Lounge that's gonna cost you $175. The outrageous price celebrates Chicago's 175th bday and its pièce de résistance is a white pearl from the local Glenview Jewelers. The cocktail is created with Few Whiskey, Herradura tequila, Mathilde pear liqueur, simple syrup and topped with Veuve Cliquot.
And speaking of pearls, Volo celebrates its seventh anniversary with $1 oysters, $5 house-made sangria and gratis pork belly on a stick. That's 4-7pm Friday, with drink specials all night.
Really Crimson?! $175 for that cocktail?! That whiskey is god awful, that tequila mediocre, and that champagne is middle of the road. The only saving grace is the pear liqueur. Maybe I'm mistaken and the dining diva forgot the decimal point between the 1 and the 7.
