She Wants You To 'Jam Out'
Chef Grayson Schmitz (Photo: Bravo)
If you know what Top Chef Texas contestant Grayson Schmitz means by this, then you already know you're in for one helluva ride if you decide to attend her first-ever Chicago event.
The Wisconsin native's making a permanent move here and for her inaugural dinner, she's teaming up with Chicago-based, Latin-influenced brewery 5 Rabbit CervecerÃa for a benefit at Logan Square Kitchen.
Cooking with Grayson aims to be an interactive event, with diners getting in on the action and helping the popular chef create the multi-course, family-style dinner. Each course will be paired with one of 5 Rabbit's craft beers.
Seating for the event is limited to 25 guests, and tickets are $125. Proceeds benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The event happens at 7pm May 24.
UPDATE: This will be one of the final events at Logan Square Kitchen because it's closing permanently June 28:
"Logan Square Kitchen will close permanently on Friday, June 28, 2012. We're grateful to our community and every single person that believes that we can heal community with food.
"Currently, about 20 active businesses work at LSK. All of them will need to find new kitchens in order to keep their businesses open. All clients will be able to continue to produce until June 28, 2012. We'll be working to support our clients during this transition, and welcome any information about available kitchens."
