Alpana Singh Repping Chicago For Food & Wine's 'Sommeliers of the Year 2013' Honors
Master Sommelier Alpana Singh
Congrats to The Boarding House's Alpana Singh for being the only Chicagoan named to Food & Wine's annual Sommeliers of the Year list. Here's why she won, according to the mag:
"... there is arguably no other place in the country as wine-obsessed as her new Boarding House, with a menu of dishes tailored to the wine and a chandelier made from 9,000 glasses."
That's super cool for Singh and her team and no doubt her restaurant will be busier than ever.
I just can't help but think there should be two Chicago somms repping tho; former RM Champagne Salon wine director Jason Wagner was dismissed from the list when he left the swanky bubbly bar earlier this year to settle into The Gage/Henri.
Maybe he'll get another shot in 2014 . . .
