So Very, Very Hot Right Now.

Thank goodness for restaurants that serve late brunch. If it weren't for them, I'd never get to indulge in fluffy, buttery biscuits, blueberry pancakes or bottomless Mimosas—unless I made them myself.
OK, so I'm being a little over-dramatic, but you get the point.

A number of people share my sentiments, which is probably why you'll find so many late brunch spots around town. So the next time you're craving an offbeat version of Eggs Benedict or Fruity Pebbles French toast, you'll know where to go . . .

-Sunday's supposed to be a beautiful day (Should we really count on those weathermen to know what's up?!), so it's a perfect day to show off your croquet skills at the Vital Bridges' annual Chefs and the City event. This chef-focused event should be especially lively, seeing as it's putting a spin on the usual walk-around tasting. In addition to croquet, guests will be able to sample vittles from the likes of Ryan Poli (Tavernita), Brian Huston (Publican), Merlin Verrier (Graham Elliot) and Shin Thompson (Kabocha). The event happens 12:30—5pm at Galleria Marchetti. It's $150 per person and includes cocktails, of course.

-Doughnuts+ice cream=!!!!!!! Firecakes proprietor Jonathan Fox has created the ultimate summer treat: the doughnut ice cream sandwich of honey-glazed square doughnuts filled with house-made vanilla bean ice cream. It's $4 and available Wednesday through Saturday.
