Freebies . . . on Friday . . .
Low on cash, but got an appetite for the good life?! Every Friday, 312DD features the best bargain bets around town:
Benny's Chop House: One of the best deals during the Super Bowl, the menu at this River North steakhouse will offer $2 prime beef sliders, truffle & mushroom flatbreads, and $3 craft beers from Green Bay and Pittsburgh. Also, bring the kids along for generous deals 3-7pm every Sunday. Each child (per paying adult) eats for free from a menu that includes Chef Jonathan's Chicken Noodle Soup, all-natural chicken fingers, petite filet with fries, classic cheeseburger, and an ice cream sundae with chocolate sauce.
CityGrounds Coffee Bar: This new spot opens with a bang Saturday, featuring complimentary pastries, desserts and coffee for those who stop by. Metropolis Coffee Co. is the featured brand and guests will get the chance to evaluate different flavors. 7am-11pm Saturday.
In Fine Spirits: Every first Friday of the month you can count on some serious tastings of craft brews, wines and spirits from the experts at this Andersonville mainstay. 6-8pm.
Lush Wine and Spirits: More tastings are on tap tonight at the West Town location where you'll be able to guzzle Glunz Wines. There will also be someone on hand to drop some knowledge about the wines. Then grab a bottle or two and head down to yummy Cuban BYO Habana Libre for traditional eats and a warm, tropical environment. 5-7pm.
The Southern: And see what all the fuss is about as they debut different mac 'n' cheese flavors from the Southern Mac Truck on Super Bowl Sunday. Hit the buffet for $10 to sample four different flavors. Guests will also approve of the $3 Shiner Bocks and Bulleit bourbon shots.
Must say that tastings at Lush on Division are becoming one of my favorite things to do since moving back to Chicago! The staff there are so lovely. I'm already signed up for their wine and chocolate tasting on Sunday. Um, yum!
