Alice Waters in Chicago!
Alice Waters hits Green City Market later this month.
Trailblazing chef-tress Alice Waters makes an appearance at Green City Market to sign copies of The Edible Schoolyard. This is one not to be missed as Waters' influence on the organic movement gets props for turning chefs as well as children onto healthier cuisine. That event is free and happens 10:30-11:30am Saturday, April 25 in the eco-parking lot at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum (2430 N. Cannon Dr.).

Drinking wine out of a paper bag?! Really? That's what's up over at BIN 36, where guests will get to sample a number of signature vino and vittles. To add a little edge to this blind-tasting party, Wine Director Brian Duncan's serving the wine in brown paper bags to test guests' skills. 6-8pm April 22. $25.

Gather the girls and head to 312 Chicago for Kimpton's annual Dress For Success fundraiser, which helps disadvantaged women achieve economic independence by providing them with professional attire and career development tools. It's also a chance to meet the restaurant's hot new chef, Luca Corazzina (the former chef at Vivo), and sample dishes from his home-style Italian menu. $25 ($35 at door) ticket includes two drinks and appetizers. 5:30-7:30pm April 23.
