Put Eco-Friendly Prasino On Your Radar
Here's your first look at a rendering of the third location for Prasino in Wicker Park. (Photo: Prasino)
Look for "eco-chic concept" Prasino to open in August in the Wicker Park 'hood.
This is the third location (the first opened in LaGrange in 2010 and second in St. Charles) for the popular restaurant that's rooted in seasonal, local and fresh ingredients. Even the drinks menu highlights small producers of wine, beer and spirits.
Prasino Executive Chef Scott Halverson oversees the menus at all three locations, and we're looking forward to his innovative dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Even though the menu will be seasonal, you'll always be able to get signature dishes like Caprese Eggs Benedict (made with an English muffin, tomato, basil, mozzarella, poached eggs, balsamic glaze and hollandaise sauce), lobster-stuffed avocado (topped with mango salsa and chili beurre fondue), miso chili- glazed line caught Alaskan black cod, and braised beef short ribs with cauliflower cheddar gratin, seasonal greens and truffle mushroom cabernet sauce.
What's also cool about Prasino is that its commitment to sustainability is reflected throughout the space as design team Simeone Deary Design Group (which also designed other locations) uses reclaimed tabletops, floors and light fixtures crafted from recycled wine bottles, wood and cardboard boxes. Additionally, the food is prepared in a kitchen that's designed to reduce energy and water use.
And finally, there's outdoor seating for 100 on a patio right on bustling Division Street. It's got a bit of a Euro feel with vibrant, imported umbrellas and a cozy couch certain to be one of the most coveted spots on the strip for sipping cocktails . . .
