The dynamic dining duo of Elizabeth and Mark Mendez recently left Carnivale to strike out on their own this fall with a new restaurant venture.
He was executive chef and she acted as wine director at the progressive Latin restaurant in the West Loop.
They haven't disclosed a name or location yet of their next project, but to keep us abreast of what's promising to be a Latin-focused eatery (with what's certain to be a brilliant wine program), they've launched The Cook & The Corkscrew on Windy Citizen today.
