Freebies . . . on Friday . . .

Low on cash, but got an appetite for the good life?! Every Friday, 312DD features the best bargain bets around town:

This is absolutely amazing!

Why bother going to one of those cookie-cutter chain restaurants when you can support a local gem like Big Jones with the family. What makes it even better is that if you arrive between 4-7pm, kids dine free when accompanied by an adult. That goes down every day.

Also happening is the daily deal at Frankie's on the fifth floor of the 900 Shops. Super sommelier Alpana Singh has selected her best bet vino and sparkling wines that will cost you no more than $5 a glass.

If you love pie as much as I do, then you don't want to miss Friday Night Flights at Hoosier Mama Pie Co. Each week, you can choose three small pie slices from a rotating menu for $7. They're staying open until 9pm and whipping up apple, sugar cream, espresso cream, chocolate chess and Sour Dutch Pear.

And this may be as close as we get to the Oscars this weekend! The Terry's Toffee Galleria location (5247 N. Clark St.) is doing a tasting of its decadent desserts Saturday. These are the same goodies placed in the swag bags of Hollywood's elite.
