Be Merry & Munch at These Holiday Brunches
Power shopping is serious business during the holiday season, but before you head out on your mission make sure you fill up with a nourishing good meal.
And if you're braving the weekend crowds, you'll want to check out one of these great brunches. From $15 bottomless Bloody Marys and Mimosas at 25 Degrees to Kit Kat Lounge & Supper Club's annual Jingle Bell Brunch, here's what is going down:
We cannot be held responsible if you go overboard shopping if you hit up 25 Degrees's brunch beforehand. Every Saturday and Sunday they're doing $15 bottomless Bellinis, Bloody Marys or Mimosas, plus a number of signature burgers, fries and breakfast sandwiches. 11am-3pm.
Or you can give back while grubbing down at Brunch. From Dec. 12-18, diners who bring at least five cans of food to donate to the Greater Chicago Food Depository receive a complimentary appetizer.
Cantina 46, which is right in the heart of the Mag Mile shopping district, is the perfect setting for chef Troy Graves' (formerly of Eve, Tallulah) pop-up brunch happening Dec. 11. He's doing a traditional, slow-roasted Mexican cochinita pibil (suckling pig) that will be served family style with tortillas and habanero salsa. It's $25 per person and also includes bottomless mango mimosas and Micheladas. Seatings are at 11am and 1pm, and reservations are required at event@cantina46.com.
The Jingle Bell Brunch happens on Christmas at Kit Kat Lounge & Supper Club, so there will be no shopping involved, but the restaurant will give you a few gifts to take home. The "Super Sexy Santa" will be on hand for fun photographs (as well as offering shots). The holiday brunch is $30 for a three-course, prix-fixe menu ($15 for those who bring canned goods to donate to Vital Bridges.) For an extra $10, you'll get endless mimosas, sangria and Bloody martinis. 11am-3pm.
And Hyde Park's Park 52 hosts Brunch with Santa, where you'll get to meet St. Nick and indulge in an a la carte menu of omelets, pancakes, chicken & waffles, and catfish. Dec. 18 1:30-4:30pm. Reservations highly recommended at dawn@park52chicago.com.
