'Taste of Chicago' Kicks Off First-Ever 'Craft of the Cocktail' Event With Blackbird's Lynn House

Untitled

If you're one of those people who abandoned the Taste of Chicago years ago, you've got a good reason to go back when the food festival returns to Grant Park this summer.

Blackbird chief mixologist Lynn House wrote this on her Facebook wall over the weekend:

"After 30 plus years, the Taste of Chicago is including the Craft of the Cocktail on its Celebrity Chef Mainstage. Guess who will be whipping up libations? Super psyched and honored!"

Very cool and well deserved, considering that House has been showered with a number of accolades, notably being named Bombay Sapphire's Most Inspired Bartender (2009), Absolut Rebel Grand Champion (2010), Dame Hall of Fame (2012), and a grand prize winner of Sundance Channel's Beyond the Bar, as part of its Iconoclast Series (2012).

She'll only do one evening on the prestigious stage that has also featured the likes of Art Smith (Table Fifty-Two), Rick Bayless (Frontera Grill) and Stephanie Izard (Girl and the Goat) in previous years.

Oh, and boo. There won't be any samples . . .
