The September Details issue proclaims that Filipino cuisine is the next hot dining trend and highlights some of the top spots in the country.
Notably missing are Chicago restaurants—which shouldn't come as a surprise because when most folks think of Filipino food the Midwest isn't the first place they'd look.
But as with every type of cuisine, Chicago offers its share of Filipino restaurants such as the chef-driven Pecking Order by Kristine Subido. From traditional, Filipino-focused fried and roasted chicken to Pinoy eggs (five-minute egg wrapped with house-made longaniza, then breaded and fried), the food reflects the chef's training and colorful heritage.
Looking for more Filipino feasts around town?! Urban Spoon features a pretty tight list that's worth checking out.
