MeatyBalls Delivered to 312DD!

It was a really good thing that we were paying attention to Twitter Thursday morning.

That's when Phillip Foss of the Meatyballs Mobile tweeted that he'd make special stops along his regular route to deliver his signature meatball sandwiches.

Naturally we took him up on his offer and got him to drop off three: the signature Meatyballs (mushrooms, shallots, Farmstead cheese sauce, truffle oil), Buffalo Chicken Balls drizzled with blue cheese and a spicy sauce and the Thai'd Balls made with turkey, coconut milk, Thai chili sauce and sweet peppers (prices range $7-$9). Each came on an artisan-style baguette, and he also threw in a bag of truffle-dusted potato chips and chocolate salty balls.

My crew loved the bold and zesty flavors of the Thai'd Balls best, and the potato chips were gone so fast that I think I only got to taste exactly one.

The Buffalo Chicken Balls were also quite good, but the flavors were so rich I don't think I could handle one on my own. And, of course, we were quite pleased with the signature Meatyballs, which went best with the truffle chips.

Each sandwich was perfectly seasoned, not too salty and just the right amount of sauce, and we'd definitely order them all again . . .
