Christina Gace's inspiration for her Pumpkin & Apple Whoopie Pies came from the October 2009 issue of Bon Appetit that featured a recipe for Pumpkin Whoopie Pies with Maple-Marshmallow Cream Filling.
Her idea won her two tickets to Green City Market's first-ever Masquerade del Mercado, taking place 4-8pm Oct. 30 at Carnivale.
Alas, I have no more free tickets to give away, but they're still available right here. Prices are $65-$90, and through Wednesday each ticket purchase gets a bonus of five live drawing vouchers (which will be held at will call at the event).
Here are the prizes for the live drawing:
1) Bucktown package: Fried Chicken Dinner for six at The Southern, coupled with a style and make-up session with renowned stylist Trisha Starr-Perez of Karen Marie Salon.
2) Goat package: A bottle of Stephanie Izard's "Goat Bandit" bourbon (distilled with Buffalo Trace), a signed Girl in the Kitchen cookbook and a Girl & the Goat limited edition tee shirt.

There's also a live auction event happening online right now. Items include dinner for four at Schwa, with wines as well as dinner for four at Old Town Social, followed by a night on the town with chefs like Stephanie Izard, Jared Van Camp and Jared Rouben, who will guide the winners around Chicago to their favorite watering holes after dinner.
Finally, the "best costume of the night" will take home dinner for two at GT Fish & Oyster.
