Rockit's Big Plan in the New Year?!

Last March I wrote about Rockit Ranch Productions' next project—an Asian-themed concept based on the team's New York dining adventures at 14 restaurants in 14 hours.

And now I have more information.

An Ultimate Insider tells 312DD that Rockit (which also owns Rockit Bar & Grill, Sunda and Underground) is set to open a Korean barbecue spot next door to what's soon to be R.J. and Jerrod Melman's country/western bar in River North.

Of course, that's news in of itself, but what's also interesting is that the teams are always in close proximity with all their projects. For example, the Melmans will certainly give Underground a run for its money with the celebrity crowd when RPM Italian opens next door in January.

And the Melmans' Hub 51 and Paris Club are only half a block from the original Rockit Bar & Grill.

I so wouldn't be surprised if they decided to open a venue soon in Wrigleyville, where the Rockit crew opened a second outpost of their original concept.

No word yet on the name of the Korean barbecue venture or when it's set to open, but I will certainly keep you updated!
