Soon we can look forward to Chicago Chef Week, happening March 18-23.

Organized by the Boka Restaurant Group (Balena, Boka, Girl & The Goat, GT Fish & Oyster, Perennial Virant), the fourth-annual affair gives chefs an opportunity to showcase signature items on their menus. And of course, diners get deals: It's $22 (lunch) or $39 (dinner) for a three-course, prix-fixe meal at most spots.

Look for a few popular restaurants to offer their own specialized deals during Chicago Chef Week. Blackbird, for example, is doing a $65, five-course dinner menu. And its sister restaurant, Publican, will feature a $30, three-course, prix-fixe menu 3:30-5:30pm Monday-Friday.

Finally, a number of newcomers are set to participate this year. BLT American Brasserie, Bombay Spice, GT Fish & Oyster, Perennial Virant, Roka Akor, Rustic House, Tavernita and Yusho join the veterans.
