There's been a lot of chef shufflings in recent weeks, which is probably why this one went completely under the radar: The mad-talented Jeff Pikus is no longer at Maude's Liquor Bar.

He tweeted that update in late June—which was spotted by an eagle-eyed Ultimate Insider—and has pretty much been on the road ever since.

What has he been up to?!

"Jeff expressed interest in new challenges. After basically working on Maude's for two years, that made perfect sense," said Sodikoff Restaurant Group founder Brendan Sodikoff, who owns Maude's as well as Au Cheval, Doughnut Vault, Gilt Bar and the forthcoming Bavette's Bar & Boeuf.

Sodikoff continued, adding that Pikus is helping to open Bavette's—which is set to debut by the end of July—as well as a second Au Cheval outpost in London this fall. In addition, the young chef is also involved in all the group's projects, and his role includes development, mentorship and teaching.

In the meantime, Dustin Tripp, who has been working with Pikus since Maude's first opened, is overseeing daily operations of the kitchen at the West Loop venue.
