Deals & Steals You Don’t Want To Miss

I'm always a sucker for a big hunk of meat—particularly when we're talking about lobster. So I cannot help but be psyched by the newest offering at Michael Jordan's Steak House where you can get a lobster prix-fixe dinner for $49.

Thankfully, it's not just big 'ol chunks of crustacean; the menu is very well thought out and doesn't overdo the theme. You'll start with the sweet corn lobster bisque that's decadently poured over lobster hush puppies in a vanilla bean aioli.

And then there's the main event of grilled Maine lobster that comes with lobster creamed corn and watercress salad. For an extra twenty bucks, you can add a juicy filet, but believe me when I tell you that's going to be too much food. The deal continues through August 31.

Check out even more deals . . . and steals happening throughout the month:

Get six friends together and plan for a night of extravagant food and fun at West Town's Arami. The special chef's dinner includes 10 courses paired with sake and wine. What's awesome—and rare—is that they're only doing the dinners on Fridays and Saturday, but you must book it by August 10 (reservations may be made through Oct. 27). The $600 deal ($100 per person!) can only be booked through the new MasterCard Priceless program.

Awwww, shucks. We're officially in National Oyster Week, which means Frontier is once again offering a number of don't-miss deals. Specials include a dozen chef's choice oysters for $12, $6 char-grilled oysters, plus $3.50 Abita Purple Haze drafts and $4 Abita Amber Ale bottles to wash them down. The week culminates on August 12 at the restaurant with the annual oyster eating and oyster shucking contests.

The Bluebird gets in on the oyster action with happy hour featuring $1 oysters 5-7pm every day. Ummm, and the best part is that it goes beyond National Oyster Week.

And get ready for Lillie's Q Inferno Imperial IPA Release Fundraiser Party happening 7-10pm August 21. The event's being held in memory of owner/chef Charlie McKenna's aunt, Katherine McKenna, and will benefit the Katherine McKenna Brothers Scholarship Fund. McKenna's gathered some of his chef buddies to cook for the event, including the likes of Stephanie Izard (Girl & The Goat), Matthias Merges (Yusho), Chris Pandel (The Bristol/Balena), Mike and Patrick Sheerin (Trenchermen), Greg Biggers (Café des Architectes) and Chris Curren (Stout Barrel House & Galley). It's a cash bar, but each guest gets two complimentary eight ounce pours of the Inferno Imperial IPA and the new Lillie's Q bourbon cocktail (Henry McKenna 10-Year-Aged Single Barrel Bourbon, Briottet Creme de Banane liqueur, Briottet Creme de Noisette liqueur and Imbue Bittersweet vermouth). Get the tickets right here.
