This is some very cool news!
Check, Please! host and former Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises master sommelier Alpana Singh is set to open a wine bar, according to Crain's Chicago:
"The master sommelier and host of WTTW-TV/Channel 11's 'Check, Please' show is plotting to open a wine bar and restaurant with Bistronomic owners Matt Fisher and John Ward.
'"I'm pleased to confirm that Matt Fisher, John Ward and I are planning to open a restaurant here in Chicago," Ms. Singh wrote in an email to Crain's. "Currently, we're in the process of selecting a space, and have yet to make any final decisions regarding the location. We're very excited for this opportunity to work together, and I look forward to being able to announce more specific details as the project advances in the coming weeks."'
Smart move on Fisher and Ward's part to snatch up Singh. They had much success with Martial Noguier at the helm of Bistronomic, which was named Chicago magazine's best restaurant of the year in 2011.
They could possibly have another hit on their hands!
