Homestead is back!

West Town's only rooftop restaurant returns May 31 with the exciting team of chef Chris Curren (Blue 13, Stout Barrel House & Galley) and beverage director Benjamin Schiller (Boka, Girl & The Goat, GT Fish & Oyster). What's even more exciting is that we've got the first-ever look at the drinks menu.

-We appreciate that Schiller's off to a moderate pace with his cocktail list. Look for seven specialty drinks that are seasonal, light and perfect for sipping on Homestead's rooftop. His signature Ghost Sign features a thinly sliced grapefruit wrapped around the inside of a Collins glass that’s mixed with tequila, Pimm’s, kumquat and lemon. Another great example of what to expect is Ink Sleeve of mezcal, raspberry-infused ice, lime and bitters. Also look forward to artisan, small-batch spirits; a list highlighting organic, biodynamic and small-case production wines; and a number of craft beers.

-If you're one of the lucky people who gets "summer hours"—off by noon every Friday—I've got something special for you. I've gathered a fun list of daytime places to hang out, such as Cedar Hotel, while everyone else wastes away at the office. Ummmmm, also see Your Guide to the Art of Day Drinking.

-That Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues is so tired; it's been happening since the late 1990s. Plus—let's be honest—the food just isn't good. That's why it's time to give Soul Brunch Sundays at Untitled a shot. It happens 11am-3pm with deejays and/or soul bands. On stage most Sundays is the Gerald McClendon Band, which throws down with everything from the Temptations to Tina Turner. On the menu are items like brioche french toast, pork belly scrapple Benedict and potato hash. Mobile bloody mary and mimosa bars are also set up for your drinking pleasure. Entree prices do not exceed $14.
