'Top Chef Master' Star Heads To Chicago

Photobucket

Jonathan Waxman was the most colorful character on last season's Top Chef Masters, and now he's bringing his charm to the 312.

The head chef/owner of NYC's super successful Barbuto will be in town Thursday to promote his new cookbook, Italian, My Way (Simon & Schuster, $32).

What's cool is that the event happens at Terzo Piano, owned by Tony Mantuano, Waxman's former competitor on Top Chef Masters.

That means guests will not only have the chance to rub elbows with two culinary stars, but will also get to enjoy cocktails and bites inspired by the book (including Waxman's chicken al forno with salsa verde). The book will be on sale at the event, and Waxman will sign copies.

The event is $75 (excluding tax and tip) and it's an additional $32 if you want a copy of the book. Proceeds benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Illinois and its Man and Woman of the Year campaign.

Reservations are strongly recommended. 7pm Thursday.
