Low on cash, but got an appetite for the good life?! Every Friday, 312DD features the best bargain bets around town:

Chicago Cut Steakhouse: Scotch lovers should drool at the thought of this tasty deal going on at the downtown steakhouse. Chivas 18 will be in the house 5:30-7pm Friday, offering gratis cocktails and tastings.

DMK Burger Bar: Sales from DMK's 2011 calendar benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository. And if you get yours through Jan. 31, you'll get a free Bardstown Bacon-Bomber Milkshake.

Kenmore Live Studio: Former "Hell's Kitchen" cheftestant Connie Lovely Jackson hosts a cool event for brides-to-be. She'll do food demos of bridal-inspired hors d'oeuvres, plus guests will have a chance to win a $500 Sears gift card. Some of the bites she'll be hooking up include wild mushroom and goat cheese crostini with parmesan triangle; chicken sausage skewers with pesto and fresh tomatoes; and grilled shrimp wrapped in bacon with honey barbecue sauce. RSVP here to reserve a spot. 3-5pm Saturday.

Taco Joint: A new Mexican spot just opened from the folks behind Zocalo, and for the first few weeks they'll surprise dinner guests with free tacos. All you have to do is follow them on Twitter for a taste of the likes of Barbacoa (braised beef brisket with cilantro and onion, roasted red jalapeno salsa), Birria (Jalisco-style lamb and pork stew with spicy cascabel-morita salsa) or Al Pastor (marinated, grilled chicken breast garnished with serrano-pineapple juice pico and tangy tomatillo salsa).

Timothy O'Toole's: Love hot wings?! Well, this may be your thing. The Streeterville sports bar is extending an invitation for you to participate in a wing-eating challenge at 7pm Friday (and also Feb. 4, 11, 18) for a chance to win tickets to the annual WingFest on Feb. 27 at the Bailey Auditorium. Timothy O'Toole's will be competing in the hot and exotic categories at the event.
